Delete your Jyotisha account

This page is for Jyotisha — Panditji ka Hindu Calendar on Android. It explains how to delete your account and exactly what data is removed or kept.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — from the app (version 48 and later):

1. Open Jyotisha and go to the Profile tab.
2. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
3. Confirm. Your account and all its data are removed immediately.

Option 2 — by email (any version):

1. From the email address you signed in with, send a message to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Jyotisha account”.
2. If you signed in with Google, use that same Gmail address so we can identify the account.
3. We delete the account within 7 days and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following from our servers:

• Your account: email address, display name, password hash, and any Google Sign-In link.
• Every saved birth profile — names, birth dates, times and places — for you and anyone you added.
• Match (Guna Milan) reports, journal entries and preferences.
• Device tokens registered for notifications.
• Your user record in Firebase Authentication (if you signed in with Google).

Database backups roll over within 30 days; after that no copy remains.

What is kept

• Anonymous usage and crash statistics (Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics). These are not linked to your account and expire under Google's standard retention (at most 14 months).
• Data stored only on your phone (for example a profile created without an account) stays on the device until you uninstall the app.

Want to delete data but keep the account?

Any individual profile, match report or journal entry can be deleted on its own from the Profile tab. It is removed from the server immediately.
